Idle is Surging from 750-1600rpm... any suggestions?
Guys,
I have a 96 Civic LX/4dr...not modded or anything, just a DD stock car.
Once the car warms up, the idle starts surging from 750 to 1600 rpm.
Any suggestions? The car has never been modded or anything, just 100% Bone stock.
Thanks.

I'd check the IACV on the back of the intake manifold. Clean the screen to see if that does anything,if not unplug it while the car is off. Then fire it up and if the idle surge quites there the problem.good luck

If you've got the stock Y7 in there, the IACV is mounted on the throttle body and is towards the front of the vehicle.
I too have a stock Y7 (99 hatch) and the IACV started to freeze up on me at around the 175k mile mark. Took some throttle body cleaner to it (after I warmed the engine up - crud is easier to remove when warm) and haven't had a hiccup from it since.
Just remove the air intake box and you'll see the hole where the IACV takes in its air supply - spray in there and modulate the throttle to keep it running.

*Update*
Cleaning the IACV worked. I took off the airbox and started the car up and started spring into the inlet of the IACV and modulated the tb.
Thanks guys!
