clean your IACV
make sure you have no vacuum leaks
bleed the coolant system.

Have you bled the coolant though? If there's an air bubble anywhere, it could cause this.

Have you bled the coolant though? If there's an air bubble anywhere, it could cause this.

Sorry, didn't see your second post. Last time I had IACV problems, I cleaned it out with brake cleaner, but it didn't fix it. I threw a known good one in there, and the problem went away. Cleaning IACV works sometimes, but sometimes you just have to replace it.

could be the pcv valve check that. let the car warm up to normal operating temp and find the vacuum hose for the pcv valve and pinch it close if the surge stops then you have found your problem
