idle problem w'b18b in EJ8
swapped my 2000 B18b into my EJ8 finally.. now im working on getting the idle to set steady at around 800rpm when warm.... my problem is im noticing when im doing stop and go driving (rush hour traffic and the mall) the idle will goto maybe 300 at the most and stall out......i checked my vaccum lines and have no leak (that i can find atleast) and im jsut totally boggled.....is it that i jsut need to raise the idle more to compensate for this type of driving??? im running ITR plugs and wires at the moment but i dont really think thats gonan effect anything.... timing is good.......jdm gsr fuel injectors........GSR pistons and rings.......every now and then i get an idle surge too. from like 800 to 1100rpm (+/- 100rpm) anyone got any info or insight on this??

maybe ur alternator.... i was checking to see if the alterantor was bad because my car was dying.... (( it also had a wierd idle... and idle surges from 800 - 2000 every so often)) so i rebuilt it. and it fixed the idle... car still dies

hm.....im not so much worried about the surge seeing as it doesnt do it as often as the dying of the car....but thank; i will keep the alternator in mind if it becomes more of a problem......anything else??
