idle problams?
hello everybody..
when the engine idles and i rev it up a bit (till about 1700-2000) and let go the idle comes back to normal oporation idle and after a second it revs itself to 1000-1100 rpm's.
what could be the problam?
another q:
when the car stend still and i push the brake pedal and let go the idle also rev's up a bit...is there a solution for this?
thanks

Re: idle problams? (RACEPAK)
first question, does the idle go up/down constantly? if so check your coolant level, vacuum leaks and iac valve.
for the second question, spray brake cleaner around the mastr cylinder and booster and see if the rpm's change, if they do you have a vacuum leak on the booster.

Re: idle problams? (RACEPAK)
if the car is cold the rpm's will be high to warm up the engine(just throwing it out there)
anyways, try cleaning/spraying the throttle body with cleaner to make sure the plate is not sticking, also check that the spring pulls the cable back completely.
i had a civic were the throttle plate spring lost it's strength and would never pull the cable back completely, leaving the plate open as if i was pressing the gas. i just installed a separate spring to the throttle body and got it fix that way. good luck.
