Idle Issues!!!!!!!!HELP
So here is a basic run down on my car
98 civic with a GSR swap
Ever since i replaced the IM gasket i have been having idle issues, well not necessarily just idle issues though.
When the engine was cold it would jump rapidly up and down right around 1500. So i swapped out the IACV to an extra i had and it seemed to somewhat cure the problem.
But now it will idle extremely low when it is cold. If i go to start my car in the morning after it has been sitting all night it will not even stay running. So i usually adjust the throttle cable some and it will be fine. But the idle will still be low.
After it gets warm though the throttle will seem to stick sometimes right around 1500 or 2000, kinda varies. But i can put my foot under the throttle and pull it back up and the rpm's will go back down to normal.
Help is much appreciated.
Chris

Re: Idle Issues!!!!!!!!HELP
There are alot of possible reasons for the low idle part and only some would be related to the fast idle part. Basicly, having the minimum throttle opening too wide can cause problems with the air/fuel ratio, especially when the amount fluctuates. Check the throttle movement manually under the hood with and without the cable connected. I didn't mention that the cable itself and in some cases the pedal can cause the sticking, and checking it with the cable disconnected can rule those out. When you reattach the cable, make sure to set the tension properly, not making it too tight.

Re: Idle Issues!!!!!!!!HELP
The spring does seem a little sticky towards the top when the throttle would be closed.
Also right now the peddle seems kinda stuck towards the top like it is hard to just give it a tiny bit of throttle from a stop. I'll push it in and it will jump.
If i swapped to a ITR throttlebody, which i have laying around, would it work on a GSR manifold with the current throttle cable. Because i know the cables mount differently. I have the throttle cable bracket off of a ITR also, would this work?
