Re: Idle issues
Look into the fuel injectors. Simple trick while running: unplug an injector, you'll notice a change in power immediately. Do that to each individual one to check functionality. If you come across one that isn't working, there's your issue. May also be fuses, check those. Aside from that, spark plugs, plug wires. distributor cap can be minimal culprits. Clean/replace Idle Air Control Valve or you can also adjust your idle. Best of luck.

Re: Idle issues
check the throttle cable, then id try adjusting the idle set screw, and maybe clean the iacv. you could rent or install a fuel pressure gauge and see what the fuel system is doing at idle to rule out fuel issues. i know you probably want a definite answer but here.

Re: Idle issues
Two things to do before considering anything else:
Clean the IACV.
Check the coolant level (in the radiator, not just the plastic tank, when the engine is cold).
Set up on a 2-wire IACV is simple. Warm up the engine, turn off A/C and everything else, and unplug the IACV. It should idle slower than normal (if you want to get particular, 420 rpm, measure with a service tach not the dash tach). Adjust the air screw on the top of the throttle body to get this rpm. If you can't get enough rpm with the air screw, remove it and clean the air screw related passages. Do not adjust the throttle plate stop screw. The throttle plate should always close completely when no one is pressing the gas pedal.
Unplugging the IACV while running will turn on the CEL with a code 14, this is expected. When you plug it back in, it should pick up to normal idle.
