Default Idle issue

I have a d16z6 rebuild bottom with A6 pistons, z6 head with new valve seals, seated valves. Ecu is a virgin p28. I turn the car on it starts no problem. It goes straight to 1500rpm i let it sit and it drops to 100-400rpm and stays on!! Lol ive never seen this before. Did vacuum leak test came out with nothing. Took off the map sensor the car dies down but is still on. If i hit the gas sometimes it jumps to 2000 and will stay there. And ill have to pull the pedal back. I adjust the cable to where it idles perfectly at 1000 and it runs fine for a while. I hit the gas and it slumps back down to 100-300 rpm. Im lost. Someone said its my cable but the cable worked fine for the last motor that was in it. Help me out thanks

the cable is not the way to set the idle as the cable can stick. have you cleaned the IACV,FITV(if you have one) bled the coolant sys and played with the idle screw ?

Wow shows how much i know. No i havent bled the cooling or anything else you mentioned. On the IACV i was told i could tap it and if the rpm moved it would be that. As for idle screw im using an auto throttle body on my IM, would that effect it?

The throttle body should be the same, so doubt that would be an issue. But at cold start, idles at 1500, then warmed up drops super low?

I couldnt really say exactly. Cold start it will start in high rpm 1000-2000 then before it even gets warm if it feels like it will start to sound like its dying but it wont shut off it will run at 300rpm like **** shaking. If i tap the gas it will jump back alive stay at 1500 for a bit then fit it feels like it. It will drop to 1000. Its really irregular honestly it goes up or down. But not the bouncing idle like most people get.

first clean the iacv then allow proper slack on the throttle cable it shouldn't be hodling the trottle open.

Are your valves making any noise.

I just adjusted my valves yesterday ( loose as hell ) and my idle went down a good amount.

It used to idle around 1500 rpm, now its at 800 rpm, i might actually bump up the idle.

Ok ill give cleaning the iacv a try. And the valves have been reseated before the rebuild. They are ticking loud but ive always heard that was normal on D series. Should my car still run when I disconnect the map sensor? And how did you adjust your valves to get the idle to change, id like my idle to sit at 1000. Should i do a compression test? On a side note my exhaust doughnut doesnt really sound like its sealed in the flange. It bothers me i can hear a leak and ive tried two exhaust doughnuts. A 95 civic (too small) and a 98 crv (it fit but i crushed it lol) mind you im using after marker headers 4-2-1s. Not sure of the brand. I'll measure the outlet later.
