idle and easy acceleration problems
i've got a 97 d16y8 in a 95 sedan, p28 running y8 basemaps from phearable.
When the car warms up to operating temp it begins to cut out every once in a while. It also happens on very light acceleration. Does not happen while still warming up, and does not happen under heavy acceleration. Feels like a very light missfire.
I have replaced wires, plugs, and coil. I have cleaned the iacv and the fitv, also tried using extra iacv and fitv. replaced throttle body gasket, cleaned throttle body, and ran the set up on stock p28 maps. Nothing fixes it.

Re: idle and easy acceleration problems
I hate to post this in two peoples problem sections in one night... But try the fuel filter. My old 240sx would do that. It would run fine warming up, but then unless I was 1/4 throttle or more, it didn't want to rev and it would bog down. Could be the problem man, $10 parts can never hurt to change out!

Re: idle and easy acceleration problems
This sounds like my exact problem as well. I have a 2000 Civic EX. I had some rough Idle issues and an unrelated leaky valve cover gasket issue. I changed the gasket and then became a member of this great site. I read information about the FITV, IACV, and TB cleaning points. I cleaned my IACV and sprayed the cleaner in the TB and took a towel and cleaned the inside of the TB the best I could. It help the rough idle but still have this issue. I will be replacing this tonight as well.

Also I think I will take off my TB completely and clean it since it was so dirt putting on a new gasket of course. Over 250,000 miles I'm thinking a though cleaning is in order as well as the fuel filter. It is original on the car as well....lol. Probably the issue. I hope.

The filter helped slightly, not a complete fix. Have cleaned everything; fitv, iacv, and throttle body.

Hey, a little help is better then wasting your time! Try running some injector cleaner through there to man. Sometimes the **** that gets you is the simple stuff you missed while trying to dig deeper.

Re: idle and easy acceleration problems
well planning on digging really deep now. When I replaced the filter i noticed the fuel was a bit dirty. So now I'm going to drop and clean the tank.
Now that I think of it it was almost a caramel color, with little transparency, and seemed a bit thick.
