Idle Air Control Valve delete
ok so i got a 95 civic b16a swap and the damn thing never idles right. it revs up and down from 1200rpm to 1500rom all the time hot and cold. so i found out the fitv causes that problem. so i took it off and screwed the big white placetic thingy back in and it still hunted until it was at operating temp then it would pur at 900rpm but it couldnt hold the idle it would stall out and ide have to just pop the clutch. now ive just completly deleted the fitv with a peice of sheet metal and bypased the coolant lines. now when i start it it does the same damn thing until i stick my finger in the top hole of the throttle body and shut off the iacv even when its unpluged it causes the motor to hunt. so my question is can i just block off the iacv like i did the fitv and bypass the colant lines and do you think it would idle right and catch the idle. all i want it the damn thing to idle kinda right becuase the hunting is pissing me off haha. P.S ive already cleaned the iacv multiple times and still nothing i havent replaced it yet tho.

Deleting the IACV isn't a fix to your problem, it's being lazy.
If you've cleaned the IACV and it's not fixed anything, have you tried replacing it's little o-ring gasket?
have you cleaned the lines going to it?
are you positive it's getting power?
are you positive the solenoid in it actually works?

i have cleaned the lines and there is a cel but this happens everytime i ask a question. if i jump the ecu to pull the codes the cel does not blink only my srs light and that flashes because of my airbags my cel not does blink so either the previous owner wired it so its always on or something is wrong. i havent completly eliminated the no vacuum leak. but would a new intake mani work?

Don`t forget, if you have an OBD1 ecu, it doesn`t store codes. The second you shut the car off, it loses any codes it picked up during the drive. You have to drive the car for a bit, and then get the codes while the car is running.

Most people go from a GSR intake mani to a B16 man for many, many reasons.
I'm sure there are testing methods available to test the IACV, if not, go to Autozone, get one and try it... if it doesn't work, return it.
