Idle Adjustment PART 2 LOL
Ok I asked about idle and so on about a week ago on a 2000 EX , I have decided that I am gonna adjust my idle to that when its in gear (AUTO UGH) that its idling at about 800 to 900 give or take . This is up from the normal 500 to 600 (((shaking and vibrating))) . I tried to adjust the throttle cable itself but that only resulted in the throttle sticking when the accelerator was pressed . I noticed a small nut and bolt on the throttle body that adjusts idle , One Problem , HOW THE HELL DO YOU GET TO IT and what size nut is on the bolt . I have tried getting to with everything from needle nose plyers to a socket and ratchet((too big and its a small ratchet)) . Any suggestions or has anyone done this themselves ?

The throttle adjustment on the TB is a screw, not a nut. It' faces the same direction as the TB (head of the screw is facing the passenger side of the car), it's just below the MAP sensor to the left (looking at the front of the TB). Turn it CCW to lower the idle, CW to raise it. Adjust only when the car has warmed up to norm. temp.

Re: Idle Adjustment PART 2 LOL (VTC_CiViC)
I just checked my engine . I have a d16y8 , there is no screw that points to the passenger side of the car . the only screw thats on the TB is located on the TB and is down by the fuel rails . I dont know what to use to get to it

if you hadnt adjusted your idle before there is something covering that screw. it has like a dried up paint texture and you have to get it off then you will be able to see the screw.

Re: Idle Adjustment PART 2 LOL (dirtySOHC's)
Opps my bad , not fuel rail . I ment to say down near the intake rail is , where air goes into the throttle body then gets seperated as it goes into the cylinders . I found the bolt that has the yellow past stuff on it but I still cant get to it with a wrench or whatever . If you have done this what did you use to adjust the bolt? ? ? ? And don't call me son , you don't pay my bills ROFLMAO
tis all good

OK I found the screw , it had a rubber plug placed over it , a plug with a little tab on it . I did what you said but after turning the screw to increase the idle it would increase but then only return back to the idle it had previously . It only seemed to temporarly increase it only for it to return back to the previous idle . UGH what the hell am I doing wrong?
