Idle at 2 Grand after spark plugs!
I just popped in Bosche Platinums into my 2000 Civic EX.
I gapped 'em twice @ .052.
When I first start my car, idle is at 2000 RPM!
Once the car warms up, it drops to normal, BUT sometimes it goes too low, like at 400 RPM.
Any ideas?

High idleing is normal when first cranking your car....when i had my B18c swap it would idle at 2k rpms sometimes then slowly drop to 5-600 rpms when warming up. How did your car used to act when cranking before installing these plugs.

I checked them not too long ago, still looked exactly the same as when I got the car
I think I am just gonna replace them w/ NGK's next oil change this week. Have never heard a bad thing about NGK's + civics

1. Your way over stock gap
2. Bosch plats suck ***
3. Your not supposed to gap any platinum plugs at all, the electrode is way too thin.

Re: Idle at 2 Grand after spark plugs! (mpociask)
Okay, I am NEVER going to pep boys again!
I asked them for plugs for a d16y8 civic. They said "Do you want platinum" I said "Yes".
I asked "Whats the gap spec?" They said ".052" They actually wrote it on the box.
I will regap tonight a post results. Should I gap to .040 like someone suggested?
Thanks

Agreed. Get some regular old stock copper NGK's (ZFR5F-11, I believe is stock).
