Identifying OBD Type ?
Quick question for you folks. Is there anyway you can identify the OBD type on your ECU ? Im not looking for someone to say "XYZ engine is OBD type x" Im looking for a way of finding it out myself.
What should I be looking for codes on the ECU itself ? or are things as simple as "Year XYZ Is OBD X" etc. Thanks for your input folks. - Prob |
different obd's have different looking plugs on the ecu... that's you best bet in dermining the obd

</TD></TR></TABLE> 92-95 are obd1. before that is obd0. after obd2. (on civics anyway) |
Re: Identifying OBD Type ? (Chiovnidca)
Curious but how do you decide what is OBD2a and OBD2b then ? Does what your saying apply to all cars regardless of whether they are sold in the US or the UK ?

Re: (Cnote)
Cheers man, I shall go checkout my ECU when I get some daylight. Curious but is there anyway of finding out what ECU you have by hooking it up to a pc ? I know you can buy specific diagnostic equipment but can you fabricate anything to work with a standard PC ?
Thanks all for your help, hopefully this thread will help others asking the same question ! - Prob |
