i own a 2000 honda civic DX coupe with a D16Y7 SOHC NON-VTEC and im trying to swap out that P.O.S engine for something with a lil bit more power all i have done is a cold air intake...NGK plugs and sk2 short shifter and a exedy stage 1 clutch im making about 130 horses but that not enough for me soo if you have any ideas/opinions on a good/affordable swap or some better engine upgrades let me know thanks

get a "normal" intake. that top mount mani is for fuel economy and sucks ***. even a stock honda one will flow better than that thing.

gotcha but thats how i got the car but it has things wrong with it too soo i cant drive it yet.....i kno it needs a clutch and the idle goes up and down do u think it could be cuz of the intake?......and the guy i baught the car from said he drove it with the messed up clutch and he said it would engage the gears but when he would hit the gas and all it would do is rev up but not speed up what could that be? maybe the tranny itself? or just the clutch?.....im thinking im just gonna get a whole new engine and tranny what are some good set up for my modle/year civic?

Try cleaning your IACV for the idle problem. Your clutch is messed up doubt it's your Tranny there kinda hard to **** up but I dont know how long he drove with the ****ed up clutch. Could have messed up the bushing. I'm gonna say its just the Clutch.

B18b1 is a pretty cheap swap.
