Re: IAT sensor help needed (civic-4-ges)
Hey thanks for the reply, I noticed theres a tube that slides into the ram intake of the gsr. What I dont understand is the wireing for it. I have a ex harness on this motor and I seen a 2 wire black plug that has blue insert in it I was told thats for the iat....is that right?

Re: IAT sensor help needed (EK project hybrid)
Not sure if thats the right one, however with that engine harness, it should be on the same harness as your MAP sensor.

The IAT connector has Red/Yel and Grn/Blk wires coming out of it.
For the GS-R's though, wasn't the IAT bolted into the #1 runner of the intake manfiold??

Re: IAT sensor help needed (EK project hybrid)
i got a 96 ex coupe with a 98 GSR. The IAT sensor is part #18 in the diagram below.
It's on the top of your intake manifold.
I run the same CEL and have been for almost a year. Your car should run fine with the CEL on. I've swapped sensors (Like $60 from Honda) but my CEL stay'd on. I've narrowed it down to the wiring. And plan to re-wire some day soon...
Hope this helps

I've not messed with DOHC's, but a friend has one and from what I remember, the IAT was mounted on the IM like this:
Part #18
EDIT - Damn, 1 minuted too late.

Re: IAT sensor help needed (Grimm)
Whats up grimm, thanks to chris's IAT wireing colors I got it figured out now and the check engine light is gone. I have a 96 civic hatchback, with a 01 gsr engine/trans, and im using a 96-98 civic ex harness (5spd). When I finished the swap...I knew the second o2 sensor had to directly into my ecu but decided to cheat and use the obd1 p72 which cancels the second o2 sensor. Since you have the 96-98 ex model, there is a plug sitting under your center console near the shifter I think. You can run your second o2 sensor directly into it if you dont want to use a obd1 p72. As for the IAT plug which I was talking about before, it requires a little nipple type of thingy which reads the intake air temp (IAT) that has to plug into the ram intake. I did it and walah, problem solved. No more check engine light and it does make a difference. I think the car wont perform to its full potential with the check engine lights on.

Re: IAT sensor help needed (EK project hybrid)
cool I'll have to check it out, I gotta do a bunch of electrical maintenance. SRS and cable reel replacement, IAT wireing, and oil pressure gauge install. So I'll definitly have to take a look...
Yea with the IAT on, it may not perform at it's absolute best, but it isn't harming anything. least it owuld seem like it should..

Re: IAT sensor help needed (SpeedyEk9)
What swap do you have in your ek? What year civic ex harness are you using? Check the primary o2 sensor, maybe its busted and needs to be changed. The harness has a black IAT plug with 2 wires on it, Red/Yel and Grn/Blk located by the TB. You have to insert the IAT on it and then insert that into your ram intake so it can read the air temp. If you dont have anywhere to insert the IAT you can make a small hole on the ram intake and insert it with some type of rubber washer so it will hold in place.
