Default IAT IACV PROBLEM....searched for hours on end and still nothing...

ive been reading about the iat and iacv and gained some knowledge...

thing is, my car is still throwing a code for the iat even tho its just been replaced with a brand new unit...

i am in the process of cleaning the iacv with brake cleaner but how come im still throwing a code if the iat has just been replaced?

running a chrome chipped p28 on a jdm itr motor...

and also, i dont have a cold start idle anymore, it just idles at 700-800 as if the motor was already at op temp...wats that all about...?

try reseting the ecu. my friend had the same problem with his iat. we reset the ecu and the code went away.

mtber set it up...

it was running fine just a few days ago...i messed up when i switch the harness from the iacv to the iat...it melted the iat, so i replaced it...i never plugged it into the iacv tho...

ive tried resetting the ecu like fifty times already...and it still pops up...no matter what i do...

anymore ideas?

haha, thats what happened, your ECU is now fried buddy. search, this problem happens ALOT, well, more than it should, instantly fries the computer, or part of it, and unless you can solder you might as well get a new ecu.

yep, most likely, plugging the iacv connector into the iat will melt one of the capacitors in the ECU almost instantly, im surprised you didnt see the smoke out the ecu, pull the cover and inspect the internals on the ecu and you will see.

will do...nother question, is the ecu fixable? if say i repaired said capacitor? also, i took my car out for a test drive, and everything seems to be working just fine...

vtec engages at 5600, no rev limiter well at least upto 8k...motor seems to run okay except for maybe the rough idle...

o thanks schardbody for all the help...really appreciate it...

this is what honda-tech needs to be like...

your ecu should be fixable, just the iacv curcuit is blown in the ecu now, as for adjusting the TPS, it probably wont help you any but you can do so, just look for it in the FAQ sticky, or search, its been covered.
