Default iacv problems

i am having trouble with the idle on my car...i throw a code for a iacv and my car will stick itself at 1500-1600 rpms and then it won't come down until i restart the car or even sometimes even have to diconnect the battery terminals.....the car will try to find and idle between 500 and 1300 rpms when the code isn't on.....its a 2000 civic si.....please give feedback if there are any ideas on the subject....thanks

Clean the IACV out. Check to see if it's still good.

use carb cleaner to clean it out. the screen could be clogged up with carbon.

Mine did that exact same thing. Check your vaccum lines. mine was my cruise control line.

being that the actual problem wasn't with my IACV I don't know if that is what is wrong with yours. I just know a vacuum leak will sometimes throw the IACV code. When the vac line was off, it would idle normally for a minute the jump up to about 13-15K and then drop, the jump right back up, and drop and on and on. I had actually adjusted the throttle until it would idle correctly with the leak before I noticed it.
