iacv, p0505, idle air control malfunction
car is a 98 civic ex, d16y8
was having some idling issues, surging etc. so after a little bit of trouble shooting i replaced the IACV. needless to say it was a chunk of change.
this, however, did not fix the problem, im still throwing a p0505, or a 14 if you jump the connector. i had a friend clear the code with his scanner after replacing the iacv, so its not that i didnt reset it. im stumped.

Hm...I'm assuming you've triple checked the whole installation. Is the idle air inlet to the intake manifold obstructed in any way? By the way, do you simply still have the code or is there still the exact same idle issue?

Re: (Hardedge)
it was the exact same idle issue. however, following some advice i just adjusted my idle control screw, and now have it idleing at a steady 800-900 which, with my cam, is as low as i am going. i now need to have my buddy clear the code to make sure all is well.
