IACV CEL still, surging idle, sputtering until 3/4 throttle, help..
JDM B16A into 93 Civic CX
I had MAP and IACV CEL's, so I bought a new throttle body realizing that the nipple for the MAP vacuum hose on my old one had been broken off, and I installed it. I figured that this would maybe help my surging idle problem since there was a pretty decent vacuum leak. No luck.
The car is still surging. Right after I start it it fires up and idles fine for about 10-20 seconds, then starts hunting around within a 400 rpm range for a steady idle. If I give it gas, it sputters, sputters, chokes, then at about 3/4 throttle it pulls its **** together and revs to about 5k, or whatever. After I let off the throttle it comes down smooth and continues its search for a steady idle at around 1400-1800 rpm.
What could be causing this? I checked for vacuum leaks, none that I can see/hear. I replaced the IACV with one that I know works. What else could be my culprit? FITV? That will be the next thing that I replace.
Also, anyone using an SI or EX harness, could you tell me what colors the wires going to the IACV are? I have a spare plug sitting below the IM that is too short to reach the IACV, so I don't think that it's it, however the harness is for an EX or SI, soo..
Thanks~

Spray around with a can of carb cleaner and see if you have a leak.

Take off the intake tube; Notice some holes infront of the throttle body plate?
Cover them both up - What happens to your idle?
The other plug you're referring to is probably the power steering switch - does it use a Grn/Blk wire (don't remember what the second color was)?
But if the FITV is duffed - 'fix' it - don't replace. You can mecahnically fix this valve so that it provides no additional air into the intake during cold starts. You are effectively disabling it.
