iacv buzzing noise?????
hi, i have a 96 civic hatch cx with a d16y7 and im converting my car to obd1 for tuning purposes. i put a 90 civic si intake manifold because i needed the 2 wire iacv. and when i turn the key to the on position there is a loud buzzing noise coming from the iacv. i have no idea why it is doing this. i have done all the proper wiring, and changed the pins on the ecu harness. i have a check engine light but i dont know what its for. and i cant figure out how to jump 2 wires so the cel light blinks. when i connect the 2 wires on the little blue plug by the ecu the SRS light comes on. i have all the sensors and stuff that i unplugged, plugged back in. so could the CEL be because of the iacv buzzing? is it bad? thanks.

What computer are you running?
I personally dont like the iacv "conversion" techniques, i have yet to see a successful one.
When i did my swap i swaped the whole harness in the process.
Are you sure the IACv yo put on isnt broken? You have the corret coolant tubes running thru it?

im running a p06. before i put the different intake manifold on there was so cel and now there is.
i dont know if it works or not. it came off my friends car.
i have the same coolent hoses running to it as on the other intake manifold. i just wasnt sure if it made a difference what hose went to what side of the iacv.

Are you using the D16a6's Throttle body as well?
From what ive learned thru experience, you need the correct matching Throttle body to run the IACv correctly, because bewtween TB and IM there are pathes cutout, and from what ive learned, there are differences in years. For Example, when i swapped on a Z6 intake manifold, a y8 TB's pathes werent matching up to the pathes on the Z6.

Than it must certainly be your IACv itself.

Are you 100% sure you wired it correctly?
I didnt even know IACv's made a noise, lol.
Are you sure what your hearing is the fuel pump priming or something else under the hood?

im running a p05 that ive had. i was trying to use a p06 so i could get the car tuned and get the ecu chipped. but i just picked up a working p06 from my friend.
i tried to jump the ecu wire but it wouldnt blink. and i guess if it doesnt blink that means you have a bad ecu. so thats why i tried my other one.

Re: (pxsx)
it might be the iacv, cause i put a different iacv in and the buzzing went away. the thing with my ecu i had in there was that it was chipped before i got it so i had to get it rechipped for it to run right with my car. so just change out the iacv and you should be good.
