Default IACV

I currently drive a 2000 Honda Civic DX. The car has been shuttering for about 3 years now. it was my wifes car before I met her and no one can figure it out. I have been trying to figure this out for the past year or so and the things that have been done are fuel filter, spark plugs and wires. Just recently when the car was in the shop to look at P1459 they said there was another code and that was for IACV they actually called it a motor not sure which is right.

Wondering if this could have been the issue all along and if cleaning it would fix it?

I had have tried to take it off to clean it but couldn't get the hoses off the IACV. I have tried to heat them with a hair dryer and pry them off with a screw driver but to no avail. Does anyone have any more ideas other then cutting them off and replacing them? Also should I just replace the IACV or would cleaning it fix it? The local honda shop has never even ordered a IACV for a 2000 Civic as the part wasn't even in thier system( large metro area) and nor were the hoses so they said it wasn't common. Any ideas?

Thanks

The motor they mentioned may be the motor that rotates the valve blade. If it goes bad the IACV won't work correctly. You can try cleaning it, here are steps for removal:

Unplug the IACV connector (blue arrow).

Open the 2 clamps (red arrows) and slide them down the coolant lines (just get them out of the way). Using needle nose pliers, twist the hoses to loosen them and pull them off. Some coolant may spill out.

Remove all 4 mounting screws (orange arrows).
