iac problem '92 dx w/d15b
i am having an iac problem and throwing cel code 14. car surges at 1500-2000 rpm's, i cannot just ease onto the gas. either i have to be on it or off it completely. car starts and idles fine, when the car is warm the problem still persists.
the setup is on a skunk2 manifold w/a bbk 70mm throttlebody. coolant lines are bypassed on the iac. the problem did not surface until a p28 (chipped i believe) was swapped with another virgin p28, before the car was shipped to me in hawaii.
if the problem is actually the ecu and not the iac, what chipping program do i need to get to get the car to run correctly? this is what i got from reading this thread.

Later models have a 3-wire IAC that controls the cold start RPM (read: no fast idle valve). A stock ECU MUST have a IAC to idle right. As for the fast idle, the ECU needs that to warm the motor up. If it does not have it, it will not idle right because of the pre-set maps on the ecu are writing with use of the fast idle.</TD></TR></TABLE>

any help would be greatly appreciated, the car drives like ***

not the problem, i have one plug similar to the iac plug, but there is no sensor for it. the problem did not arise until the p28 (chipped i believe) that came with the swap was taken out and a virgin p28 was put in. i really think this has to do with the iac being bypassed and an unchipped p28. anyone else have any ideas?
