Re: IAC idle surge please help

should be. the box didnt come with anything saying otherwise. the iac's look identical. i ordered it through my work from honda.

Is the IAC OEM? Make sure none of the hoses are ripped.

yes i got the iac from honda. i will over look the hoses. that might make alittle sense if so since i had a little pain with one of them.

White smoke and the surge makes me wonder if you somehow hooked up a coolant line where a vacuum line should go.

saying you guys think maybe i switched the two lines to the iac?

Re: IAC idle surge please help

Not so much thinking of those 2 lines, but wondering if there are any other lines that could be crossed... you mentioned leaving a vac hose off when doing your mounts. Just sayin, double check ALL the vac and cooling lines.

Re: IAC idle surge please help

yep a vac line to the manifold was off. wierd though because i never touched that line. maybe i hit it off, and didnt notice. the white smoke has decreased ALOT, but still at correct temp with throttle some is still coming out of the exhaust. anyone have an idea why, and hopfully not the head gasket :(

bleed ur coolant system and restart ur ecu afterwards.

Re: IAC idle surge please help

Is it cold out where you are (below 50)? If it dissipates quickly its probably water vapor, a byproduct of combustion. If it has a sweet smell to it, then it may be coolant. Do you hear any hissing from the engine bay? Try spraying some brake cleaner on the vacuum hoses with the car running. If you hear a change in RPM then you know where to start looking for a vacuum leak. Also, did you bleed the cooling system and use new O-rings on the IAC?
