IAC ACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
JDM B16a
DOHC Del sol IM ECU and electronic goodies
however.. i have the typical erratic honda idle
850-1500rpms
I replaced the iac valve....
however the port for the IAC valve at idle still has a vacuum on it.?????
could the new IAC valve not be working also?
what kind of voltage reading should i get for this valve
Iam at a loss for what to do..... i have adjusted the tps and it reads .5v at idle
the tb has been cleaned.... and i also put a new TB gasket in..
anyone have any suggestions
thanks a bunch

Re: IAC ACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (GreensleeperB16)
why did you replace the IAC in the first place? was it bad? (code?)
to test it take it off and place 12 volts across the two pins. the plunger should move all the way to one side, remove 12 volts and it should drop to the other side.
by the way, one side of the IAC should have vacuum on it at adle.
erratic idle can be lots of things.
what else have you tried?

I was told by a few others that was my problem.... They said that at idle on the two ports that the one leading to the IAC when u put ur finger over it there should not be a vacuum. If there was, then i need to replace the IAC.. i have bleed the cooling system, replaced the TB gasket and adjusted to the TPS to spec. what else could it be?
O2?
thanks

Re: (GreensleeperB16)
buy a lot of carb cleaner. start the motor and spray the cleaner near hoses, gasket areas and sensors. if the idle fluctuates when you spray, then thats where your leak is.
