I want an angry engine
I have a stock 95 si - d16z6
I want to make it sound really mean when I rev the engine.
...I don't mean just loud, I want a kind of an angry growl
From what I've learned so far, the things that influcence the sound of an engine the most are: air filter, intake manifold/tb, cams, header and exhaust.
Any suggestions?

Get a good air intake...I think the J's racing ones are the loudest...that should give you a deep throaty sound.
Also a quality header, cat, and exhaust combo will help it to sound angry.
Don't get cheap stuff or it will just sound like poo poo poo...
If you get those things, your car should sound more "angry"...
If you really want it angry, just run an open header

1) Pop your hood
2) Give your engine a good hard stare...
3) Begin to scream and curse at your d16z6...dont hold anything back.... Talk about its terrible tourque numbers....and how it has no top end.
4) After that simply drain all the oil out of the oil pan and start your car.
end result: your d16z6 is angry and your happy

Sell it, get a B18, drop in some S2 Stage 2's w/ their valvetrain, metal gaskets, head studs, yada yada yada, push accelerator.
EDIT: get an rx7, drop in an LS1.... http://www.hinsonsupercars.com SICK SICK SICK!

An-r open header. When I revved that thing oh my god did it sound so delicious, I even had guys in their expensive cars look at my car like "AWWWW that's a honda?!"
