How did this happen? Is it possible there was aready some in there? I would not be suprised if the person that sold it to me didn't drain it and just pulled the axles to drain it. But is this still possible to have this much fluid in there already??

Less than 2 quarts is all you need.
How about I just say.....2 quarts....fill until overflowing.

I put in 1 3/4 quarts in my z6 tranny (it filled up at the upper fill plug level). according to the helms manual you're suppose to put in 2 quarts but I believe that pertains to a tranny thats just been rebuild.

i think its supposed to be 1.9 quarts. but dont forget, if you have the car jacked up, make sure the rear is jacked too. you want it all to be even so you can fill it all the way...
