19mm too big for my stock ej1 subframe?
ok guys .. ive never installed a rear sway bar .. i have a st rsb for my 95 ex coupe .. it installs with all of my stock hardware .. the ends mount to the bottom of my strut .. i was just wondering .. before i go about doing this .. do i have to grease anything .. or make sure bolts are torqued right? .. ive never done this so im just wondering what other things you do besides just bolt it up ..
also .. is there a certain way i should tighten my bushings .. like do i make them really tight .. or keep them looser?
edit: its used by the way .. so its greased a little

you tighten the bushing while the car is on the ground
as far as the bolts just torque them up and that's it nothing to it

ok so .. when the cars on the ground .. i thighten the end links as much as i can?
and all the other bolts i just tighten tilll theyre tight .. torque doesnt matter?

No...youre going to break things if you do it that way.
Endlink nuts are 22ft/lbs
Swaybar bolts (@ subframe) are 16ft/lbs
If you dont have a torque wrench...buy one. While youre at it, buy a Helms manual for your car as well.
Going around just making things as tight as you think they should be is a bad idea...

thank you pdiggity .. also .. i was just searchin .. and im kind of nervous now about my subframe tearing .. the bar is 19 mm .. and i dont hve the beaks kit or anything like that .. just my subfram .. im not in autox or anything like that .. i just enjoy driving my civic .. and like to take turns around town at about 20mph .. hopefully more w/ this sway bar .. will that have too much stress? .. will i need subframe reinforcement or will i be ok?
btw do u know the torque for the strut bolt .. where i'll be mounting my L bracket?

Yeah man...youre probably gonna tear it eventually.
Get an ASR kit (ive seen beaks tear several times).
Until then, I wouldnt put it on.
Fixing a subframe will cost you a lot more than the cost of a bracing kit.

dang homie you got it all wrong.. just because you drill a hole doesnt mean it will hold a bolt. it probly will but once you put a little stress it your whole sway bar will fall out. you gotta get 4 bolts and 4 nuts, metric size 8mx1.25 i believe. you put the bolt on the inside and nut on the outside. puttin the bolt is very difficult so you gotta put it in a wrench, tape one side of the wrench so the bolt wont fall, then feed it through.
st sway bar might be different but thats what i did for my gsr sway bar.

Good idea to torque. But, i've never used a torque wrench on my suspension. i usually just tighten them until the feel very snug. But, it also depends on how strong/weak you are too... with that, my suggestion would be torque wrench.

ok so this is what i have ..
these bolts arents going to work? ..i already tried to see if thyed fit in the stock holes .. and they woudnt .. but i mean this was on a guys car already so i dont understand y it woulding bolt up
