I need some help from tech guru's(regarding engine/transmission swap)
So here we go. I have a completely stock automatic d16y8. I want to do a manual swap this summer over vacation time(1 month) and I wouldn't say I'm strapped for cash, but i'm trying to keep it a cheap build. I'm not even considering forced induction, just a engine tranny swap so I can mash through gears. Anyways, I'm trying to figure out for a 96 ex coupe, what would be the safest/fastest combination route engine/trannywise. I have searched thread after thread on here, but no one seems to have a clear cut answer. I just want to know if i have around $2000 give or take a few hundred, what would be my best bet? That way I can piece it together over a couple months and have it ready to go by the middle/end of July. I'm not a dumbass so please don't flame me for being genuinely interested in seasoned H-T thinkers, not a ton of high school noobs. I know it's ultimately my decision for the swap, but I'd still like some intellectual feedback. Thanks!

For 2k you could find a used b16 or b18 but it might be tough to keep it i that budget because you also need all the crap that goes with a swap. If you are really strapped for cash, piece together the motor...I.e. build it yourself and do it little by little.
