Seriously no ones Gunna be able to answer this. There are five million combinations that all depend on the use. But first what kind of motor with what kind of mods?
There's a thread directly above this "what do you think about 100 eBay exhaust" check that out and it should aim you in the correct direction.

I really wouldnt worry about it, but if you are low on money I would do the ebay catback, I mean for 100 dollars if it lasts a year thats fine. How wrong can you go with steel pipe?
My boy has one on his lude and it sounds decent and gets the job done for only 100 dollars. I would do 2.5 inch though, try and search around for dyno charts I've heard of minor horsepower gains from bigger exhaust 2.5 - 3 inch area.
