Default I need to know which computer my cars needs...

I have been in the honda game for a while now but for the life of me I can't figure out what computer my boss's car needs. It's a 97 civic HX auto. The D light is flashing and a friend that works for a transmission shop diagnosed it as the computer. When we purchased the car it had a P2E ecu laying in the floor board. Is that the correct ECU? We tried a different P2E and the D light still flashed. Any ideas?

What do you mean when you say the "D" lights up?

Anyway, the p2e is for a 96-00 dx\lx. You need a p2n ecu.

Well i think I have figured it out.. isn't the HX engine supposed to be vtec? if so this one is not. and I got under neath it to see if it had a true HX auto trans and it doesn't. So i take it that the previous owner switched out the engine and trans. And what I mean by the "d" light stays on is that it flashes even when in park. But today I unplugged the "AT control unit" and the "D" light quit flashing, and the car still shifted the same.. also the car had a p2m ECU in the floor board but 3 out of 4 plugs would work. the car runs and drives on a P2E.. damn wierd *** ****

hey i've got a small problem. i bought a used jdm motor and swappped it in to my 90 integra. the motor was complete with tranny and ecu. i had to store it at a shop in orlando while i was out to sea and instead of charging me the storage fee, they took the ecu and jdm distributor. i need to know what type of ecu came with those motors, as well as distributor. (it was out of a del sol, B16A3 vtec. cable trans.) can i us the msd distrubutor that just came out? what about an aftermarket computer from AEM, or hks, or something like that? thanks for the looks
