Icon6 I need help fixing a few things...

So I bought a used 1997 Honda civic lx and need some help with a few problems I've found with the car.

First, broken fuel gauge says my tank is always full...how is that fixed?

Second, how do you open a door that doesn't open from the inside OR the outside?

First thing could be 3 things, the cluster, the wiring or the sensor. Check those 3.

Check the service manual for more detail: http://www.spoonertuner.com/manuals

2nd: there are tools available that you can stick through your window moldings and pull the leverage with. Kinda like fishing lol. I have no idea what its called in the US however.

That tool you stick in the window is for popping the lock, not the latch.

I'll be interested to hear what the solution is for the door problem.

For fuel gauge problem:

1) Remove cluster

2) Unplug only cluster connector B

3) Turn ignition switch to ON(II) to see whether gas gauge needle drops. If needle does not drop, then the cluster or gauge is bad. If it drops, then I'll post additional information for troubleshooting the sending unit circuit.

Just for clarification, did you follow the step by step procedure in my previous post? Because if you simply completely removed the cluster, then the test did not yield any useful information.

Again, just to clarify, you only unplugged connector B for the test, right? If so, the cluster or gauge is bad.

correct...i unplugged ONLY cluster B, the one on the top, and turned the car into the on position with no movement at all.

Okay, you might want to look into a new cluster. It may or may not be aproblem with the gauge itself.

How do you remove the panel with the door closed?

Buy a new or used cluster.

Oh, my bad, didn't know the door would open. Definitely remove the panel. That's the road to the fix.

1. Take out cluster
2. Put in new cluster

Jk

I guess you can pop the door panel off with the door closed, but it'll have to bend a bit
