I need help... d16z6.... again...
ok....I know people dislike these motors alot, so try not to be so negative. I'm building this motor as a daily and as a project.
But anyways, this is really ticking me off. I'm ready to grab this block and throw it against the floor and call it done. Luckily im not like that, i don't want to give up that easy.
Recently I have bought a oem crank used from another d16z6 and received clevite bearings from summits (std = standard size) .080" thick. The crank and main caps journals comes in spec, was told from the machine shop for numbers and it appears to be in perfect range, so thats a plus.
Final results is .002" oil clearance, once again
So my problem is, I'm stuck in the main bearings. I have no idea what the f*ck I'm doing wrong!
Please, I need help and info ASAP!
Thanks,
Mike

- I need to know the specs. for main cap to block journal diameter (w/out bearings and w/ bearings)
- the crankshaft's main and connecting rod journals diameter
Please, I need help and info ASAP!
Thanks,

You do realize these specs are all totally different, and need to be mic'ed to find out what they are right?
You only need to be within the tolerances outlined by Honda (often times slightly over for boosted engines).
Use HONDA bearings that you actually size correctly to get the clearances you want.

you have to have it micd. aftermarkets are typically all the same size, which is ok in MOST cases, but sometimes you need to get another one.
the engine has a color code on the block to tell which bearings it had from the factory. since you changed the crank this is now null and void.
you will have to check the clearances and go to honda and get the proper sizes
