Default I need help...........brake/pep boys problems

i went to pep boys yesterday to get new rotors. And i get my wheel off to find out that the retaining screws that hold the rotor on the hub are STRIPPED. So i get a impact wrench and start beating on that for a while. NOTHING. So i get the torch and heat it up for a little. NOTHING. So i go buy a nice drill and start drilling the screw heads off. IT WORKED, but when i get the rotor off, i find out that PEP BOYS GAVE ME THE WRONG ROTORS. Which sucks, but i've had worse happen before.

now the problem is when i put my pads and caliper and everything back on, there's no room left for the caliper to move at all. There's no room in between the rotor and the brake pads, almost like they seezed <(sp?) up on me. When i press the brakes nothing happens on that side, but i can hear the other side compressing.

CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE
BRAKES ARE PISSING ME OFF

You have to compress the piston in the caliper.

Is that what the problem is? You caliper doesn't fit back onto the disk with the new pads?

depress the caliper's piston. be sure to remove the brake reservoir cap beforehand though.

If you remove the cap on your brake fluid reservoir, there will no longer be any resistance in the system, you should be able to push it all the way down, or use a C-clamp. Make sure the reservoir doesn't over flow though.

Should go all the way back in. I'm having the same problem. The passenger side will go all the way back in no problem, but the drivers won't. I'm buying a new caliper as I can't get a rebuild kit.

EDIT: Since we're on the subject does anyone know where to get rebuilt Nissin calipers except for the dealer?

i see the caliper trying to move, but it just has nowhere to go, nothing to push, no gaps
everything is already compressed it seems

If you're having problems with the caliper, disconnect it from the brake line, compress the piston, and then reconnect the brake line and bleed that portion of the system.

Once the piston is fully copmressed, there should be no portion of it coming out of the caliper.

the piece that pushes the caliper away from the rotor may be busted. i haven't dissected a caliper, but i assume it's a spring of some sort?

did you clean and regrease the caliper pins? That is one thing that could be causing your calipers to not move. Use some big *** channellocks or a big c clamp to compress the piston.
