i need help badly!! door lock question
ok well i have aftermarket electric door locks that lock and unlock with my alarm and the other day my lock button on the door handle i guess broke ( not quit sure) well it broke while i was in the car so i unlocked the door from the outside through the window with the key and got out... well the next time i tried to get in the car i cant open the drivers door ....the passenger side door locks and unlocks and the driver side i can hear the internals moveing but not unlocking...
so my biggest question is how the **** can i get the door open ????
is there a trick to opening it if i remove the inside door handle??
if i take the inside handle off can i pull on one of the steal rods in there and try to open it or is there a better way??
any help would be great!!!!!!!!!
thanks neil dont know if it matters but it is on a 2000 civic

Re: i need help badly!! door lock question (boomnn)
This happened on my si right after i got aftermarket power door locks installed with my alarm. The guy said that sometimes a part of the actuator comes loose and they have to retighten it a day or two after installation. I just took my car right back to the place i bought the locks from and they tightened them up and hasn't happened since.

Re: i need help badly!! door lock question (boomnn)
i have been putting actuators in cars for about 4 years and the 92-95 civic is by far the worst, what i recommend doing in the next time you get your doors open take of the aftermarket door lock acuator and leave it that way i did these on a 92 si hatch and about a month later it broke the door lock sliders, so he didn't have manual control over them anymore, my suggestion to you is get ex doors with the FACTORY installed door locks and power windows (<--bonus) because that **** will never work right
about trying to get the doors open try holding the inside door handle out (like your opening the door) then try the key in the key cylinder or moving the slider (if it still works) don't force anything you might get in deeper than what you already are
good luck
