Default I need help with b16

hey guys i need a lil bit of help. My car ek hatch with b16 swap is running like crap. Heres the story iwas driving home from work one night and in the middle of the drive i came to a stop. Then resumed to drive it was now like having trouble acclerating It was almost like there was a rev limit as I accelled. Like power ..... none... power.. none... etc. Im running a ctr ecu and a ctr ecu cannot give any signal to a diagnostics machine so I know i have to get a 97 p73 to get these problem codes since im getting no communication with the ctr but would anyone have the slightest idea of what is going on so i dont haft to go spend more cash.
-timing is fine
-i have spark
-compression is good

I mean i've checked a lot out and cannot find the prob. Anyone have any tips they could give me

I hope my ctr ecu didnt go out but i dont know how to tell... help guys

check your ignition system, plugs, wires, cap, rotor.

as for the timing, are you sure u checked timing correctly? did you remove the cover and line up the marks?

Yes I checked it all and it seems all is good> The timing is correct as well. All the marks seem to line up. As I sit and scratch my head to this, is there anything else it could be, map sensor, egr valve, It seems like its gotta be an electric problem. Could it be my ecu is fried how do I check to see if thats good if im not getting signal from it, does it smell burnt?

the plugs are different obd2a and obd2b are a little different and a ctr ecu has the same plugs as a itr one. Most ecus you can get out there dont have the plugs to rewire with. Also its a b16a3 and a p30ecu is kinda hard to come across. But do I know that the ecu is the problem....... I dont really want to waste money if its not the problem how do you know if an ecu is bad?
