Default I need EVERYONE's Opinion on a GSR enine question.

Ok. i'm now going to start my GSR engine swap and possibly turbo. I have a 1994 Civic Ex and my question is.....Would it be better to buy the

Whole GSR swap
~~ then build for turbo?

or is it better for me to buy the

GSR longblock?
~~Build it for turbo?
~~Buy Ls Or Gsr Tranny?
~~Buy Strong mounts?
~~Buy strong axles?
~~And buy Hondata s200?

Take In consideration that in not putting all the money in at one time. If i choose the first way then i will buy swap and then save money for the build and turbo but if i go the other way then i will buy the longblock cash and buy piece by piece until it's done. I would love's everyone's opinion and remarks about this topic. Thanks

i bought my swap in pieces and build them as i got it. not for turbo by the way but for NA.

That saved me money, cause the bare block was $500 and a bare head was $600. i didn't need the stock internals, as i was shooting for better internals anyway.

just buy the swap....build later. it may take you forever finding all the misc parts you need.

If your car runs now then just buy your parts and begin the building process. If you buy a swap you will just be throwing money away. Unless you are getting a really good deal on the swap. Good luck. I have been building mine now for over 7 months. Soon to be force fed 27psi.

Now if I was going to go w/ 84.5mm bore w/ resleeves, new pistons, rods, cams, springs, retainers, IM, and custom axles. Wouldn't I be better off w/ buying the block and building it in pieces? Or will all the other sensors make it pretty expensive?

this is what i am doing

GSR shortblock (300 bucks melted piston)
AEBS T sleeves
JE 9.5:1 pistions
Pauter or Crower rods
Knife Edged crank and micropolshed
84mm bore

head
b16 head

dual valvesprings + titanium retainers

A friend of mine has a turbo GSR and he blew his tranny and the only one he could find was a LS at the time and it just put that car on its face after 3rd gears are too long and it won't turn up as fast. thats how i figure.

Is there good places to buy parts? I did a quick search on car-part.com and only came up w/ 2 blocks at $850.

yeah check the classifieds here they have bare blocks all the time on here for like 100-300 bucks there has been C5 bare blocks (cracked sleeve) for 300 w/ crank. B16 bare blocks with crank and main cap go for 100-150 all day long just take your time and look.
