Default I need advice quick!!

I have a 93 honda civic dx hatch. I am swapping in a b18b motor. The shop I am getting it from has a 94 integra for 1000.00, they also have a 99 motor for 1000.00. With the 94 he has the stock ecu, and for the 99 he does not have the stock ecu but the spoon ecu, he says the spoon ecu for the 99 is gonna be 300.00 extra, and the wiring for the 99 is not gonna be plug in play but is gonna take some rewiring. I know the price for either motor is good but what one sounds better to all of you smart people her at honda-tech????????????? Is 300 for a spoon ecu worth it and is it any different than a stock ecu.

I would pick up the 99 motor since it is newer and possibly less miles. If it comes with the 99 wiring harness it will plug right into your car but the ecu will not(without a jumper harness). Try getting the 99 motor and 94 ECU, well at least thats what I would do.

what type of motor are you getting for $1000? Cause if it's a B16 it's a great deal if it's a B18 it's stolen (or a lemon)...

As far as ECU's....
$300 for a spoon ECU sounds cheap to me, I was offered a "R" ECU for $300 ? be sure none of it's hot...

Do whatever man. For me it would be a hard choice. I acutally wouldn't check if it

was stolen, IMO, but that's me. Umm go with the 99 if you can though.

Its not stolen the guy who I am getting it from gets wrecked cars fixes them up so he has a ton of parts and engines and cars. We bought my moms integra ls from him and my brother gsr motor from him as well so he is kinda giving us a deal. How can I find out if it is a lemon? Is there a number on the engine I can get to run a carfax or something if so where is the number located?

That 94 will have a lot of miles and will not be fresh like a 99.

It all depends on how many miles the 99 has. The 94 is probably better because its OBD-1 and you will have no wiring problems. The 94 is complete though right, tranny, distributor, mounts, and maybe axels and shift linkage. It should if he is giving you the ecu with it.

Yes they are both the complete swaps with everything. I am not going to be installing the motor myself. I have a shop doing it for 350.00 so they wiring is not gonna matter to me unles it can cause problems down the road later. As for the ecu am I able to use the 94 ecu in the 99. And again is there any way to find out how many miles each motor has? Also does anyone know what benifits the spoon ecu has over the stock ecu?

Who do I talk to about getting my password to log on I can't remember it so I had to make a new username to post today so this is gonna be my last one cuz of the stupid 5 posts a day rule. I did not provide my current e-mail address so they cant e-mail it to me? Yes I am dumb and can't remember my password
