First off it's a 2000 civic si with a aem v2 intake. I'm out here in oklahoma city for training. Apparently, when it rains it pours, in every sense of the word. I went out to grab a bite to eat on the way back (less then a block) I hit 2 puddles. I let off the gas on the way through the first and she was fine but I was watching the gauges and ran through another. I pulled through that one as well. About 100 feet I pull into the driveway for my apartment. It sputtered a bit, never died, just sputtered. It did this for about 15 seconds then it was fine. I let it sit in my parking spot and it was idling fine.
could it have just been a little water on the eletrical connections and now is fine?
I plan on starting it again once the rail lets up.

I had something related happen when I washed my car once.
Here's the thread. It hasn't happened since.

Re: (NOFX)
Thanks NOFX. I just needed some support that everything was ok. I was planning on driving home and thought I had cashed in my chips on this one.
Not to get off subject but I thought you were gone.

I've been back since July 1st.
I was washing my car and left the car running when I was outside with it so the engine bay could dry. The car ran fine while I was outside. I stepped inside for a minute. When I walked back out the car had shut itself off.
I went down the road and it continued the symptoms from the other thread until I got down the road a bit, then it stopped and hasn't done it since.

Re: (NOFX)
Cool. I haven't taken it out since then but I moved it around the parking lot a bit (to put the engine under load) and it seemed to act ok. The filter is still wet but I figured with an intake the size of the v2 I shouldn't see much water intake. It's a shame too that I'm all the way out here. I don't know of any tuner shops where I could just go and pick up a short ram for the remainder of the time out here just to be sure.

I had a similar experience recently when a storm passed through here- I hit two puddles in a short trip, and the car was fine.
Upon starting up the next morning it went through a fit of shuddering, went down like it was going to die, but recovered.
It seemed to work itself out in about the same amount of time that it did for you.
It has been fine since (about a week and a half). I notice my gas pedal sticks slightly now before it gives, but thats about it.

Re: (YNG)
if its running fine then it should be good. Usually with a hydro lock it breaks stuff, so youd know it. Let it idle for a while so it gets warm and burns off any water and you should be good to go.. you should order a cheap shorty off ebay or something..
