I know, I know...another cel question(searched)
Okay here is my set up, a 97 Del Sol with a poormans type-r set up and running a p30 with I/H/E. Last night I was on my way home and on the on ramp while in forth gear I gassed it to pass up traffic and when I got up to about 6500 rpm my cel came on, I'm like wtf so I got off the highway and pulled over and shut off the car then checked my oil level and etc but saw nothing wrong. So I started it back up and bam, cel is gone!
Now what do you guys think caused my cel to come on?

code 22 =D
pull the code right now, even though it's gone doesnt mean it really went away. it's "hiding" there still.

Usually those are loose connections, you can pull the code (should be stored), to get a better idea of where it originated

Re: I know, I know...another cel question(searched) (wilsel)
Thanks guy I'll go take a look, I thought it was my stock ecu running lean so I switched out the p30 with my extra p28 with a skunk2 program, never even crossed my mind about pulling the codes.
Should I be able to plug back in my p30 and still be able to pull the code or do I have to get vtak going again so the check light comes back on?

I'm not exactly sure, but I would think that since the ECU has been without power the code is no longer stored.

Re: I know, I know...another cel question(searched) (wilsel)
Okay I put the p30 back in and tried to redline 3rd gear but the rev limiter would kick in at 7500 rpm and no check light engine but vtec does seem kinda of like there's no power...now that I don't have a cel how will I find out what's wrong with it? Or should I just do what ya recomended, take the vtec selenoid off and clean it? Any body got pics of what part need to be cleaned?

I tried pulling the code out of the ecu but all I got was a solid cel, no blinks, flashes, nothing. Any thoughts? Also took the vetc selenoid off and checked the sreen and plug and it looks good.

Re: (pdiggitydogg)
Okay I was unable to pull the code but when I plugged in my skunk2 p28, I had no problem revving up to 8500 rpm, now I think that it might have to do with my knock sensor or me running lean cause of my compression that I'm runnning, what do you guys think?
