Default I know about turboing a B18B, but what about a JRSC? (Mildly searched)

I searched and got a little helpful info, and i know about the long gears in an ls tranny, and how its got more torque than a gsr. But ive heard some uncertain things about this setup. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks guys!

In the kills section there is/was talk about GSRwBOOST riding in a SC'ed GSR and he was pretty damn impressed.

i got a 95 ex coupe (d16Z sucks) i dont care what any of you people say, i have the motor, and it sucks! NO torque! Sure you can turbo that pos but you're still left with a old motor. Now we can argue about that all day, but im not really knocking it cause those ***** are fast, im just looking to buy a obd2 ls with under 30000 miles on it, and either do basic bolt ons + cams/tb/i mani, but i really WANNA DO THE JRSC. The whole setup is easy as hell, and can be upgraded with the crv pulley for the ls. This setup is sure to put me in the mid-high 13's with the 8 psi upgrade kit, and a hella lot of torque. Thanks

I read that, and i have a few newbie questions about it...here goes
what is "heat soak"?
when those dudes talked about basic proper tuning what do they mean? Cam gears to dial in the overlap (probably on a dyno right?) and probably injectors too right? Any help is appreciated thanks!

I don`t have a b18b. If I did, your question would have been answered. Next time have a coke and a smile before you hit "reply"

ROFL......yeah I remember the horsepower tread, I started it.

Heat soak, the supercharger builds up heat and heats the air it is pushing into the engine.

http://www.hondata.com purcahse the intake manifold gasket to prevent this.
Most jackson racing supercharger kits come with fuel management of some sort or another. So, you don't have to worry about the injectors unless the kit came with them.

but it this way...my civic w/LS transplant and turbocharged, i raced another integra LS supercharged...he took me at the takeoff due to the immediate boost but after the turbo kicked in i pasted him like he was in park!! just my opinion i think supercharging sucks due to the fact that it runs hot *** air and it uses the motor's own power to run it!! oh yeah...any one of my buddies got 2 MR2's...one's supercharged and the other one turbocharged....raced them and the same exact thing that happend to me with my car and the supercharged LS happend to those cars...just BOOST for thought

Roots superchargers for Honda's aren't built for drag racing. They're built for road racing. Period.

Turbos rule for drag racing, but big turbos drool for road racing. (Little turbos are a compromise).

IMHO the JRSC is not a good product. I have heard more bad stuff about this product, than good. My friend has one on his 99 SI and it is just a total nightmare.

i think the blower is more dependable that a turbo..the JRSC is made to run in stock motors without all the mods ud need in turbo applications..the jackson blower made constant power in my coupe..good on the low end but lacks a bit on the high end as mention d in other post..but nice constant flow of power for mtoX

You can HEAR things all day, but unless you have a 5th gen coupe w/ls/jrsc installed...you are just sputtering things out of hearsay. Who needs that? The jrsc needs to be ran on the dyno to dial in the overlap with a pair of cam gears. A guy i the integra forum who has the SC on his gsr loves it..in fact his post is in the kills section right now...you need a hondata intake manifold gasket to prevent heat soak and minor fuel changes in addition to what JR sends you. No this is not a drag racing setup, and yes it is for road racing dudes. Everyone knows that so why would you post and compare this setup to a turbo and how you were racing the other guy like he was in park? And second of all unless you mean the first gen mr2 with the stock sc vs. the second which came with the 2.0 liter twin entry turbo with the 200HP..I hardly believe that it is a fair race with a 50 hp difference. Not every car built is gonna kick your *** autocrossing, dragracing, and roadracing/street...all cars are setup for different things, just look at the s2000...those suspensions from the factory are setup...in fact the car itself is setup for back roads, and autocrossing...not dragging...come on guys...why flame me when i am just trying to gather some info from dudes who had/HAVE this setup..or just a jrsc on any honda?? Peace out
