I keep popping my speedo fuse?????
I just got my engine back in and now the speedo fuse pops if I get above 60 or so. I've bumped it up to 10 from 7.5 and it still happens.
Anyone ever seen this before?

Re: I keep popping my speedo fuse????? (Art In Motion)
Actually, I put in a 30A (getting desperate) and now I can do about 80 before the fuse blows. Still not high enough to get me to the drag strip.......I'm thinking about hard wiring it.

you know, i think the reason why theres a fuse in there is to prevent an excess of current from travelling thru your electrical system. so if you keep allowing that much current, like 30 amps is a lot, then you're going to start frying other things as well. i think you're going in the completely wrong direction. find the problem at the source and dont hard wire it, that could only make things worse.

Take your gauge cluster out and see if the wires behind it have evern been messed with. Sounds like to me you have a hot wire touching against something. Also check the wiring down at the fuse box and at the ECU for wiring that is just twisted together.

Re: I keep popping my speedo fuse????? (Evil_Wizard)
The crazy thing is all I've done is rebuild the engine and didn't touch anything else. The car is practically brand new, 26k. Nothing inside was ever touched. this sucks.... I autocrossed today and the car worked fine until I broke the 80 mph mark then the fuse would pop and no vtec. luckily it was at the end of the course.

Just to help out incase anyone's doing a search on this.
The problem was the secondary 02 was grounding out on the body. This somehow caused the fuse to blow at higher speeds crazy.....
