I keep blowing a fuse!
I keep blowing an underhood fuse (15) for the FI E/M on my 96 hatch. It won't allow my fuel pump to work. Anyone have any suggestions? I haven't even looked in the helms yet. I was just wondering if anyone had a sollution for my problem immediately.

inspsct your wiring harness really good for loose wires. Sounds as if you have a short somewhere, now you just have to find out where. I had the same problem and it was on my wiring harness right by the ECU. Good Luck.

I've rewired a bunch of stuff. I never thought that a short involving your o2 could cause this type of problem. I was thinking I should just replace the PGM-FI main relay if its not too expensive and see if it makes a difference. I checked the white/black wire on the main relay and it should show voltage but doesn't which is why the fuse must be blown. I really don't know where to go from there.

neither did i...until i pulled all the wires...replaced the fuse and the car started right up.

Re: I keep blowing a fuse! (2000CX)
Also my check engine light stays on and will not allow me to check it. My safc doesn't work either which leads me to believe that the ecu is not getting power or something. Could this be the manin relay. I can't hear the fuel pump priming and I can't check codes because the light stays on. Everytime I replace the FI E/M fuse it keeps blowing as soon as I turn the key. All this happened after I replaced my Timing belt which is weird because I didn't touch anything else!

Blown90hatch is going through the same thing. I posted up some notes on what to check from my 96-99 Helms ETM.

Sounds like you might have pinched a wire for the crank fluctuation sensor. It's on the crank and the timing belt change is suspect.

Re: I keep blowing a fuse! (Trey)
I had the exact problem when I did my B20 swap. My ECU actually went bad or blew up(however you wanna put it). I had use a DX ECU that a friend lent me. Then the DX ECU was having problems w/ my Walbro Fuel Pump so I had to swtich back to a GSR pump. I say check the ECU if you can. Everybody told me it was a bad wire but I couldn't find it then I decided to check my ECU and the car cranked right up.

But I'm running an obd2 to obd1 harness so I eliminated that sensor.
