I just saw an EG with a carbon fiber ROOF!
I've seen it all.
Yesterday night at the hangout, I saw a red EG(EH) that had a carbon fiber ROOF!!!!! Not a sticker, not a cover, a real roof. Made completely out of carbon fiber. Even had a little inverted scoop on it...The car also had no bumper on it, I guess he was trying to floss the intercooler. Looked like a show *** wannabe though. Car looked like crap. But the carbon roof is intresting. Who would make it? How much would it cost? would you actually save weight? would you gain rigidity?

a del sol with a CF roof?? seen them.. there are clear ones too.. they sell them on ebay every once in a while as for who makes them i do not know

It may have been real CF, but it had to have been laminated to the car's unibody. You can't cut the roof of a unibody car. Since you're adding another piece to the car rather replacing a heavy part with a light one, like a hood, it pretty much defeats the purpose of shelling out mad cash for a carbon fiber.
