i just got my clutch put in . . .

on my b16a2 .... and lemme say somthin HOLLY SHIT what a differnce . anyways i was wondering what is the break in mileage 500 or 300???

and i was wondering i shift i was wondering like when i race with this clutch it seems like it could do some damage to like my axles or my motor mounts if i were to shift really hard

has anyone had any problems with installing a clutch and then racing it and it messed up anything?

its a act stage 2

2fast4u831 08-08-2004 09:31 AM

i would give it like 1500 miles or so before you tear the shiznit out of it

1500 miles....damn thats kinda high the brake in for lsd is like 800. i dont think you have to wait 1500 miles on it. And yes those could do damage to your car, but you have a stage2 not no 6 puck heavy duty perssure plate....so you should be just fine https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Re: (b18c5-EM1)

for a new car its usually 1000-1500 miles i think. for a new engine...id probably do the same maybe less.

SwampThing 08-08-2004 11:46 AM

new clutch i usally wait 500-600 miles. for a new engine i dont do the 1500 i do a strong break in change the oil, more strong pulls, change oil etc about 5 times then put in good oil and im done with the break in.

blaster834 08-08-2004 11:51 AM

I would say about 1000 miles. I wouldnt want it to glaze on you.

When I put in my CenterForce Dual Friction I waited about 600 miles before using it hard. It has held up great .... going on a year and a half now.

Frozen E 08-08-2004 12:18 PM

500 is what I've always heard.

you have to adjust to it...most of the time if its jerky its the driver. try feathering it https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

ive heard about 500 for break in periods

Shaun 08-08-2004 12:25 PM

talk about engaging hard, I practically have to granny shift with my CM Stg4 clutch

so what would u recomend for a brand new b18c5 block

how many miles?

i herd if u drive it fast in the beggining that it will be a faster block because of the way the pistons set

i have no idea let me know if im wrong

You heard wrong. Either they will break in properly or they wont. If the rings do not break in properly it will smoke. If it is broke in properly it will not smoke and the motor will last for a long time.

It's called a break in period for a reason... to be treated fragile not to be shit on while racing.
