I have two questions....
Question#1) How hard is it to take out your B16A headers? What tools do I need? Does anyone know the steps?
Question #2) My car makes weird noises when I put it into a wrong gear. Wrong gear as in when you are supposed to put it into 2nd gear, you put in 4th or even 5th instead. Then when you kinda give 80% throttle, I hear my exhaust and intake, but besides those noises, I hear weird noises. Can't really explain how it sounds like ting ting ting over and over again. Doesn't really sound like that but kinda close. Like I said, I hear my engine running but the sound seems like its not comming from there. Almost sounds like your rubbing the grooves of the bolts on to a metal edge. What is wrong with my engine? Sorry if it sounds confusing.

Re: I have two questions.... (FastxCivic)
1 - Easy. 12mm socket, 14mm socket and I think a 17 or 19mm socket.
a) unbolt header from head (12mm nuts)
b) unbolt header from block (17 or 19mm bolt)
c) unbolt cat from header (12mm nuts and/or 14mm bolts)
To install, reverse steps, skip step b.
2 - That "ting ting" noise you hear is detonation, get in the correct gear.

Re: I have two questions.... (B18C-EJ1)
Thanks for the steps.
I hear that sound when I'm in the correct gear also. The sound comes out only when I give it too much throttle. I've hit 8K many times and the VTEC engagement seems to be fine. That sound doesn't seem like its comming from inside the motor. I'm pretty sure its around my transmission area or so. NOt sure. If it is detonation, shouldn't my motor blow up by now (had the motor for 20K miles) ? Would VAFC help?
