Default I have seen people install a small air filter on the valve cover...

I have seen people install a small air filter on the valve cover where it is suppose to connect a air hose from the air intake. whats the purpose?would that small air filter increase the air flow or ??

there is a hose that is supposed to run from the intake piping to the valve cover.
you don't really want to the opening on the valve cover open or closed off, so people put a baby air filter there to prevent stuff from getting in.

No real purpose for it on our Hondas, I would not use one.

thanks guys..i am running a air hose that comes with the aftermarket airintake.so i wont waste another $10 on that small baby air filter..

you can use on if you're using a catch can setup. but other than that it serves no purpose.

I need one since my hose thingy is ripped, but will leaving the hole on the intake open affect it or nah?

Get a new vacuum hose for it - .99/ft

Yes it is called a crankcase breather. It's not really needed/used on a Honda engine. I have one on my Camaro when I went with a performance air cleaner.
