i have defeated the infamous LCA-TA bolt
i was using a 2-foot breaker bar and came so close to breaking the bolt
i'm in the process of replacing the trailing arm bushings and toe arms. the left side was a breeze (other than getting the parking brake cable out of the drum)
but at about 4:30 am i got every bolt out and was down to the last one (the LCA-TA) i was soaking it with superzilla and using a propane torch. at 8am i rode my bike to autozone to get pb blaster. soaked it with that for about 10 min then proceeded to potentially break the bolt ()
lo and behold, with a little bit of jesus the bolt rotated a hair. i had to tighten and loosen repeatedly but i got it out. i am so proud of myself because i got both trailing arms off (including the old seized up and rotted toe arms) without breaking a single bolt today.

Re: i have defeated the infamous LCA-TA bolt
i bet those bolts had never been touched since they left the honda factory
the really scary ones were the bolt that goes thru the toe arm into the chassis (where you can adjust the rear toe alignment) if i were to break either of those bolts i probably would have cried
i'm going to a shop in the morning to have them press the new trailing arm bushings. i have to work my *** off to get everything back together before i have to start getting ready for work at 1pm
oh and you can bet i'm using antiseize. gonna need another bottle soon

Re: i have defeated the infamous LCA-TA bolt
oh there was something important i wanted to get answered before i go to the shop in the morning to get them pressed in.. i 'clocked' them like everyone says to do. but i think because my upper and lower control arm bushings are also in need of replacement that the line i drew on the trailing arm may not be optimal (even though it's straight with the current/old bushing
what's the best way to set a trailing arm bushing perfectly, even if, for say, you got used trailing arms that were missing the bushings. if noone replies before i go, i'm gonna end up rotating them a little bit and eye it up with the centerline of the trailing arm
