i have a d16y7 head will a ex vtec d16y8 help?


my friend said it should increase atleast 20hp

since stock head is 106.
and ex vtec head is 127.


is this true?

naw dont doo that you juss gunna have hella engine problems just get the y8 and turbo it then it will help

my take on it is that if you can get alot of the stuff for either REAL cheap or FREE then go for it, it would also give you the practice to becoming a master mechanic cuz youll end up learning alot from your mistakes.

The vtec head will help, but I don't know about netting over 20 hp, but keepin up in traffic wouldn't be a chore any longer.

yes it can be done, no its not worth it. the y8 has more things then just the head that are different compared to the y7, so you wont be getting 20hp. more like 5.

Yup^, not to mention that you could prolly get a whole swap for 6-800$ too.
