Default I have a 96 ej d16y7 turbo what fmu ratio should i buy

I recently purchased a 96 ej d16y7 with turbo. But it has no FMU, intercooler, BOV,
VAFC, turbo timer, or boost controller. I am about to purchase an FMU but do not
know weather to get a 12:1 10:1 or an 8:1 ratio. What should i do?

do not get an fmu. do it right and get a bigger fuel pump, bigger injectors, and crome or some other ems and tune it.

I hate to say it but I ended up going with the chipped ECU and crome as well. After reading some stories and getting opions from here, tuners, other websites. It's just better to go with something that can be electronically adjusted because..lets face it. Hondas are controlled by a damn computer not by mechanical things.

agreed that crome is way better but you can use a FMU low boost no problem as a temporary solution till you get injectors.,finding a tuner...etc ..i have a adjustable one sitting around i'll sell you cheap PM me

x2, they are not as bad as people make them out to be, and they are pretty safe on sub 10:1 comp engines imo.
