Default I have 15" enkei rims, I have a question regarding fitment

The rims are 15", in the next few weeks the car will be dropped back about an 1.5" and before i had the wrong size tires on the rims i think. My question is, the lug pattern fits, but how do i know if the rims are too wide and that was the problem, not the tires. I can put lower profile tires on than what i had, but I Don't know if the tires where my problem, how wide or should i say "deep" does the rim have to be to clear the inner fender well appropriately. Thanks.

well... what's the offset of the wheel? generally you should stick between 38 and 45. That could very well be the problem... I doubt the wheel is too wide unless bigger than 7.5".

on a 15" wheel, you should be running 205/50/15 or 195/55/15

Agreed, I would guess that the rims are 15x7 and the 205-50-15 would be your best bet and you should have no issues with your drop. I would double check the offset however, just to be safe. If you look on the back of the wheel, usualy on the spokes you should see something that says "ET" with a number beside it, this is the offset of the wheel I.E. "ET 42" is a 42mm offset. hope that helps.
