I hate my EK hatch (vent)
Some people know the story of how I have chanfed my mind 10,000 times with my car which resulted in me removing my ls/vtec and having the car sit for 3 months. Well, I finally got it put back together this weekend(D16. soon to be mini-me) and we went on a little test run. we got about a half a mile from the shop and and I started loosing power dramatically and and it wouldnt even rev past 2.5k. We turn around to head back and BOOOM! Coolant starts spraying all over the wind shield and every where else out of my hood. I pull over and the top of my radiator has a ******* 9inch crack across it. Another day down . We got it back and pulled out the radiator, thermostat, and hoses and took it around back and flushed the hell out of it. The only thing that could have made it build up that much pressure is a stuck Thermostat, right? We pulled the thermostats put of a couple other D-series motors in the shop and they were totally different(Im guessing because they were 92-95) So ill just get a new one since theyre cheap. Is there any thing else i should check before putting it back together tomorrow? I dont want that to happen again.

my car doesnt run and my honda-mechanic wont answer the fone .... it hasn't ran in 5 weeks... so i bought a 2002 tacoma and my car is still sitting while my parents bitch because they are paying insurance on it and won't take it off..... my car doesnt suck *** something along the lines of MSD or distrib sucks ***

It'll get better man. My car sucked for a while, then got the swap and was cool for a while, now clutch slips and it sucks again. Its all for the love of it. Those stock plastic radiators are easy to crack . I don't know why it would be losing power thouogh. Maybe something clogged the water pump???

the radiator cap is the determining factor for the pressure in the cooling system.
maybe your cap overflow hole was plugged?
or the pressure-spring was stuck or broken?

ok u want a radiator story well i got one im going to get a haircut and im on some road and the light turns yellow so i slow down to stop the guy infront of my throws some shinny object of his car and runs the light i here a lil thump and i think this guy must hit my bumper well i pull over and i see fluid leeking out of my car and i look closer its shooting out of my radiator so i push the car to a spot at miami subs luckly i see my friend at the gas station he gives me a ride home and i start getting some tools ready so i can go fix my car ( a wrench and some puddy) my dad comes home we go to my car block off the leek and fill the radiator up drive home heh and what do i see in my front bumper a freaking butter knive just chillen some a$$ threw a butter knive of my window goes threw the stock grill and hits my radiator made my day :{

Well I mentioned comparing the thermostat to other sohc ones right? Well the one we pulled out's spring is like twice the size of the others. I guess it has to have way more pressure to switch that thing. Works now though. Except for some normall post swap bugs(codes).
